Family portraits are always fun for me to do. Hevina Dashwood called me a few weeks ago, and asked me if I could do an emergency family portrait while her eldest son was home from College. After speaking with her for a few minutes on the phone, I realized that her husband was our attorney (Barrister) when we closed on our house.

Its so nice living in a small community here in “The Beach” were your neighbors end up as your clients, and vice versa. I’ve always favored supporting our small community businesses whenever possible.

If any of you ever need a good community Lawyer call Geoff Dashwood he’s really great.

I hope you guys enjoy your photos, they’re now online.

What defines a great headshot?
As a photographer I’ve been contemplating this for years. I think really it comes down to connecting with the person you’re photographing, and trying to get there personality to shine through. If this happens, and I try my best to make sure it does, than Voila a great headshot!! Well Shantelle I hope that you agree, I think your headshot’s came out amazing. I’m only posting a few of them here, and you will see them all tomorrow.
If anyone in the Toronto area is in need of Headshot’s my rates start at $400 for a session, not including makeup. Contact me for further details.
On a side note, back in the late 80′s one of my favorite films to shoot was Pola-crhome from Polaroid, it was an instant B&W slide film that had a sepia quality to it, and had a beautiful creamy skin tone. I loved shooting it because of the instant gratification it gave. It used to cost about $16 dollars a roll, so I did not use it all that often. I think I found the perfect presets in Lightroom, to mimic this great film from the past, if I can find a few of my old Pola Chrome slides I will scan one and update this post with an example at the bottom.

Trimline 10X10 Art Tent For Sale-Toronto Canada

Includes the Following Items:
See all of the information on this tent at:
Trimlines Website

All pricing below was in US dollars.

# 1 10X10 Trimline Canopy $845
#2 Rear Door Kit $110
#3 Mesh Panels-2 Sides and Rear Door + Stabar Kit $660 8 FT.
#4 Deluxe Pole Bags $160
#5 Carrying Cases for Canopy’s $47
#6 EZ Riser Kit- For 1 person setup
Shipping from MFR on all of this cost me around $350
I will also include my custom made tent weights, a requirement of many outdoor shows, for safety, rope and tent stakes, as well as my utility box.

This is by far the best tent on the market, it was used maybe 10-12 times, and is in perfect condition, I would say like new. It is very well made, and after your initial setup, you will be a pro. It takes approximately 35 minutes for setup, if your by yourself, probably about 20 if someone is helping you. There are video tutorials on the above website explaining setup procedures.

I’m asking for $1450 for the entire setup.

Please e-mail me if your interested or have any questions.

Last years Outdoor lighting class was such a success that we’ve decided to do it again.

Saturday May 15th, @ 1PM-The Class will meet at “The Waterworks-in The Beach”

Please join us for this 4 hour event. If you’ve never been to the Toronto Waterworks, than you must go. It is an architecturally stunning building, with so many interesting facets, and back drops in which to photograph. This year we’re planning on having 2 models, and extending the class. We’re going to go through how to use natural light with Diffusers and Reflectors, to enhance our subject. We’re going to learn to use small camera flashes, such as a Canon 580 EXII, with and without softbox, and how to balance ratios to achieve the best Fill Flash. We’re also going to break out some battery operated Studio Strobes, and show you why you need these powerful lights outside, and when to use them. Last years class had a blast, but we’re capping the class at 12, so you better sign up quickly. Here is the link to Sign Up at Vistek . All students should bring there DSLR’s and be prepared to take there own photos, everyone will be taking turns with each setup.

Please e-mail me with any questions.
